Job Description: The City of Chatfield is seeking a qualified and community-focused law enforcement professional to serve as its next Chief of Police.
As Chief of Police, you will lead the department in providing public safety services, enforcing laws, and fostering strong community relationships. Responsibilities include supervising personnel, managing departmental operations and budgets, coordinating with other agencies, and representing the department in public forums.
Minimum qualifications include:
Associate of Arts degree in Law Enforcement
Valid Minnesota POST license
5–7 years of full-time peace officer experience
Valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license
Compliance with all state-mandated certifications and medical requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, ethical standards, and a commitment to community engagement and public service.
