Effectiveness Reporting

As required by Minn. Stat. 122A.091, Subd. 3, Minnesota public school districts and charter schools must report data about teachers who finished their probationary period and accepted a continuing contract position from September 1 of the previous year through August 31 of the current year. Data that school districts and charter schools must submit include: 

  • The effectiveness category or rating of the teacher on summative evaluations;
  • The licensure area in which the teacher primarily taught during the three-year evaluation cycle; and
  • The teacher preparation program preparing the teacher in the teacher's primary areas of instruction and licensure.

School districts and charter schools must also report data about all probationary teachers who were released or whose contracts were not renewed from September 1 of the previous year through August 31 of the current year. Data that school districts and charter schools must submit include:

  • The licensure area in which the probationary teacher taught; and
  • The teacher preparation program preparing the teacher in the teacher's primary areas of instruction and licensure.

State statute requires this data to be submitted by October 1 of each year. Districts and charter schools should use the Excel spreadsheet document below to compile the required data:

The 2022 deadline for submission has been extended to 10/31/22. Once completed, districts and charter schools can submit the forms to DataSummary.PELSB@state.mn.us.
