The Impact of the Parent Movement

The parent movement really made the definitive difference in getting the ball rolling. The parents started, and then professionals and state government, legislators, executive branch people, and the media went on.

I mean, someone had to ask Sam Newlund to go look at Faribault. What I'm saying is the parents own a great deal of credit for getting the ball rolling. Without them, it wouldn't have gotten done, period.

Now that's not to say that parents are all it takes. It did take professionals, State legislators, the Federal Court, and others to move the ball.
