In 2014, 74 percent of Minnesota families with children ages 0 to 17 owned their own home.  

Since 2005 the homeownership rate for families with children has steadily declined and gaps of more than 50 percentage points exist by race. In 2014, just 30 percent of Minnesota’s Black families owned their homes compared to 82 percent of White families.
