Strong and stable families and communities

Strong families and vibrant livable communities contribute to Minnesota's quality of life.

Each year, thousands of children and adults need protection, financial support, medical care, food assistance or other services. Providing protections for and services to the state's most vulnerable children and adults are some of state government's most important responsibilities.

Providing access to cultural and recreational opportunities and an environment that encourages participation also contributes to the sense of community. Minnesota residents and increasing numbers of visitors value outdoor recreational opportunities and Minnesota's vibrant historical and cultural venues. State and local governments provide services for the entire community through quality programs and facilities, and through high quality service and management of natural resources.
