Edwin Hudson was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Minnesota Management and Budget in January 2016. As Deputy Commissioner, Edwin serves as a key advisor for the Governor’s office on statewide human resources strategies. He develops and executes statewide initiatives for over 100 state government agencies, commissions, and boards serving 55,000 state employees in the areas of workforce planning, labor relations, classification and compensation, employee insurance, diversity and inclusion, enterprise learning and development, research, policy and procedures, and human resources management.
Edwin is a seasoned human resources executive with nearly 20 years of experience leading organization development, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, succession planning, and labor relations. Edwin works closely with business divisions and departments to review and evaluate strategic plans, conduct needs assessments, design and implement specific human resource plans to attract, develop, and retain talent. Previously, Edwin served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Kansas Public Schools, and held senior leadership positions at Time Warner Cable, Inc. and Xerox Corporation.
Edwin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Park University in Parkville, MO with an honor distinction of Cum Laude. He served on the boards of Peace Partnership, a nonprofit counseling and mental health educational service, and Carver Bible and Theological Institute.
