Senior Management Consultant
Sarah Small joined MAD in May 2017, bringing experience in stakeholder engagement, project management, program evaluation, facilitation, performance management, and assessment and planning. Prior to joining MAD, Sarah served at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). While there, she led a team of grant managers, managed large-scale planning processes, fostered partnerships, and designed and implemented quantitative and qualitative analyses. Sarah’s background also includes non-profit program evaluation and experience in children’s mental health.
Sarah approaches public-sector work with an equity lens and an emphasis on authentic stakeholder and community engagement, blending her expertise in planning, performance management, and mixed-methods evaluation with a strong customer and community focus.
Sarah holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and gender studies from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She serves as a Membership Co-Chair for the Minnesota Public Health Association, and previously served as a board member for the League of Women Voters of St. Paul.
