The legislation asks the workgroup to submit a report to the Legislature by February 29, 2024.
The workgroup must identify what processes, procedures, and technological or personnel resources would be necessary to enable the state or county agencies responsible for administering government rental assistance funds to meet the following goals:
within two weeks of receiving a completed application for rental assistance, make and issue a determination on the application; and
within 30 days of receiving a completed application for rental assistance, issue payment on an approved rental application to the landlord.
The programs in scope include:
the family homelessness prevention and assistance program (FHPAP);
the emergency assistance program (EA); and
emergency general assistance (EGA).
Watching Workgroup Meetings
Members of the public can watch livestreams of the workgroup’s meetings on the workgroup’s YouTube page. Livestreams of the meetings will appear on the YouTube channel at or shortly after the meeting start time on meeting days. If you don't see the livestream to watch on the day of a meeting, refresh the page starting at the meeting time.
MAD will upload meeting materials to the website before each meeting, and add the meeting summary between the meeting date and the next scheduled meeting of that group. MAD has physical copies of Workgroup meeting summaries available for the public to review at its office: 658 Cedar St., Suite 300, St. Paul, MN 55155.
Members of the public who need accommodations to understand the meetings—for example, CART or ASL interpreters—should email Kristina.Krull@state.mn.us at least three business days before the meeting. Please include the date of the meeting(s) you need an accommodation for, and information about the type(s) of accommodation you require.
