New Employee Code of Conduct Training & Certification Steps
The Code of Conduct requires all employees to receive ethics and Code of Conduct training within 60 days of initial employment. After the initial employment training is provided, agencies have the option to require additional refresher training at intervals to be determined by agency management. The Code of Conduct also requires agency heads/senior leaders, and managers, supervisors, and employees with applicable job responsibilities certify they understand their responsibilities under the Code of Conduct and their commitment to abide by the Code of Conduct policy provisions at the time of initial employment and annually thereafter. Below are the steps that agency heads/senior leaders, and managers, supervisors, and employees need to perform to certify (or re-certify) Code of Conduct compliance. Agencies may use these training resources, develop their own training materials, or use some combination of both to satisfy initial and ongoing ethics and Code of Conduct training requirements.
