It is recommended you delete all employee temp files (clear the cache) in Internet Explorer and other web browsers so learners and managers don’t experience issues with having ELM 9.1 cache on the system. For further information on system requirements, consult the ELM Technical Help Guide.
When enrolling for a course in ELM, an employee can select which job the training will pertain to and the request for approval will go to the applicable manager/supervisor. Prior to submitting enrollment, you will have the option to select the corresponding job.
Please be aware that if a course has become full by the time you are approved, you will be placed on the wait list for this session. When placed on the wait list for a class within ELM, you will be assigned an initial wait list number. If/when other participants withdraw from the course, you will be continually moved up the list. If you are moved from the wait list into the course you will be notified by email from the ELM system.
You were approved for the course prior to being placed on the wait list and, therefore, will not need further approval to confirm enrollment in the course.
Cancellations must be made at least seven (7) calendar days BEFORE the scheduled class. If a cancellation is not made seven (7) calendar days or more before the class begins, your agency will be billed. You may send another staff member in your place, however we ask that you please notify us of any intent to send a substitute.
As of January 1, 2015: If you are in an enrolled status for a course, and unable to attend, you will not have the option to reschedule when the class is offered again. If you wish to take the course at a later date, you must re-enroll in ELM and will be expected to pay for the course again.
ELM Managers, Supervisors & Training Coordinators FAQ
Sign in to Self Service and select the Enterprise Learning Mgmt (ELM) link. In the Pending Approvals pagelet you will see the list of pending approvals for your direct reports. You can approve or deny the enrollment requests from here.
You will also see pending approvals in Notifications and My To Do List.
As a training coordinator with approval rights within ELM, you will be receiving emails for those employees missing an approver regardless of their agency. There is a report, 'Missing Report To Approvals,' that is generated on-demand to review if those registrants require your follow-up.
If you prefer to stop receiving these notices directly to your Outlook Inbox, we recommend setting up an email rule that identifies these incoming emails and automatically routes them to a folder that can essentially be ignored.
You do not enter POs or EIORs into ELM. These items are entered into the state’s financial system (SWIFT) which also handles the invoicing processes. When a manager or administrator approves training for an employee it is acknowledgement that the appropriate agency fiscal policies have been followed and completed.
