Selection Process

STEP 1: Apply

Once you've found a job at the State of Minnesota that you're interested in, we invite you to submit an application.

After you successfully submit your application, it will appear in the "Apply for Jobs" section of the online application system.

STEP 2: Assess

Following your application submission, the hiring agency will match the requirements listed in their job posting with the skills, experience, education, and other information listed on your application. Applicants that best match the job requirements will be contacted to continue in the selection process.

Additional steps in the selection process could include interviews, testing, demonstrations, simulations, and more.

STEP 3: Offer and Onboarding

Our staff works equally hard to ensure the right hiring decision is made for you and the State of Minnesota. In the event that you are selected for a position, the hiring agency will provide you with details of your job offer. Offers are extended via telephone, email, or in-person.

Once you've accepted a job offer at the State of Minnesota, you will receive additional details about the steps you will need to successfully complete in order to start work. These steps could include background checks, drug screening, onboarding forms, and more.
