SWIFT Update August 18, 2016

Statewide Systems Availability All statewide systems will be unavailable due to system maintenance Sunday, August 28 between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. Please plan around this time to minimize interruption of critical business functions. We apologize for the inconvenience. Impacted systems include:

2016 Year End Update

A successful FY 2016 hard close was implemented last weekend.This accomplishment is due to agency staff working hard to meet deadlines and resolve issues.Thanks to everyone for making the FY 16 close a great success!

Q: What is the best way to search for a purchase order category/UNSPSC code? Is it possible to search by account?

A: The Category Code Lookup query, M_CG_GBL_CATEGORY_LOOKUP, should be used to search for category codes in SWIFT (Navigation: Reporting Tools, Query, Query Viewer). There are multiple search options, including UNSPSC, keyword or description. You can enter one or more search criteria and use the wildcard symbol (%) in the blank search fields.


To search by account, use query M_CG_GBL_FIND_UNSPSC_BY_ACCT. This query will allow you to enter the account number to view all categories tied to that account. Please keep in mind that you should always use the category code that best describes the purchase you are making, regardless of the account relationship. Accounts that do not exist on a category code may be added as needed if they fit the account/category code relationship criteria.

SWIFT Training

To find SWIFT training, open Employee Self-Service and select the Learning folder. Then, search the Catalog using the keyword “SWIFT” to find and enroll in classes currently scheduled. Classes are free of charge and open to everyone.
