Governor's Dayton's Council on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

Governor Dayton's Council on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday formally invites you to "The Power of Telling Your Story: 30 Years of Us." Remarks by Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith. Keynote address by Talila A. Lewis, founder of Helping Educate to Advance the Rights of the Deaf. Emcee of program by Pete Rhodes. Honoring the Honorable Michael J. Davis.

MLK Holiday Breakfast

When: Monday, January 18, 7 - 9:30 AM
Where: Nine neighborhood locations

Each year, the General Mills Foundation and UNCF present an annual MLK Holiday Breakfast at the Minneapolis Convention Center to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul hosts breakfasts at nine neighborhood locations, featuring a live broadcast of the General Mills event as well as a hot breakfast and local programming.

This year's keynote speaker is Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Patrick served as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, the nation"s top civil rights post, under President Clinton.

The MLK Breakfast will be broadcast live on Twin Cities PBS (tpt2) at 8:00 AM on Monday, January 18, 2016, and rebroadcast statewide at 8 PM that night on TPT's Minnesota Channel (tptMN).

Martin Luther King Day Celebration at Luther Seminary with Nekima Levy-Pounds

Keynote speaker Nekima Levy-Pounds is professor of law at the University of St. Thomas School of Law and the founding director of the Community Justice Project, a civil rights legal clinic. Events are free and open to the public. No RSVP required.

The 21st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We have a Dream Breakfast features a keynote presentation from Minnesota Gophers Linebackers Coach and Rochester native Mike Sherels. The Seeds of Wisdom Children's Choir and Rhythm Nation Performance Troupe perform.
