India Fest 2016

When: Saturday, August 20, 2016. 11 AM - 9 PM 
Where: State Capitol Grounds, 75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, Saint Paul, MN 55155

Commissioner Lindsey will speak on the role of the Department of Human Rights and join in the parade at the 43rd Annual IndiaFest. The event celebrates the rich heritage, traditions, diversity, and culture of the Indian American community in Minnesota. The festival features Indian food, music, dance, exhibits and children's activities and is free and open to all Minnesotans.

Highlights include: 

  • Meet greet community leaders – 1 p.m.  
  • Parade - 1:30 p.m. 
  • Flag hoisting and guest speakers – 2-3 p.m.

Minnesota State Fair

When: August 25- September 5
Where: State Fairgrounds, 1265 Snelling Ave. N., St. Paul, MN

Commissioner Lindsey will be visiting with fair-goers at the Minnesota State Council on Disability (MSCOD) booth once again this year. Stop by, pick up a "no discrimination" button  and learn how the Minnesota Human Rights Act protects everyone in Minnesota from discrimination in employment, education, housing, public accommodations, public services, credit and business. Commissioner Lindsey will be joined by MSCOD Executive Director Joan Willshire. Other MDHR staff will also be helping out at the MSCOD booth.
