Nick Pladson is the General Counsel for the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
Prior, Nick worked at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) since 2007 when he was hired as a Trial Attorney through the EEOC’s attorney honors program. As a Trial Attorney, Nick represented the EEOC in all aspects of employment discrimination litigation in federal court, including bench and jury trials. Nick was responsible for developing and bringing individual, class, and systemic discrimination prosecutions that resulted in millions of dollars damages and sweeping equitable relief for victims of discrimination.Nick then served for three years as EEOC Administrative Law Judge, where he adjudicated hundreds of employment discrimination cases brought by federal government employees and contractors.
Most recently, Nick served as the Acting Director of the Minneapolis Area Office. In that role, he managed agency programs to enforce federal employment discrimination law in Minnesota, North and South Dakota.
Nick is a 2007 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law and completed his undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
