Office and Communications Manager
Wendy (she/her) is a Latine who was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States at a very young age. She has lived most of her life in South Minneapolis, Minnesota where she has built strong ties and love for her community. As an immigrant experiencing first hand how her family and community face many challenges to survive, Wendy knew from a young age that she was passionate to make a difference. Wendy has over three years of experience working in the immigration legal field. She had the opportunity to support attorneys with hundreds of detained and non-detained people facing removal proceedings, asylum seekers, family based petitions, and other related cases.
Outside of work she volunteers her time to support with immigration related issues such as community hosted legal clinics. Wendy is also a member of the Ramsey County Youth Advisory Council (YAC), an initiative that seeks to transform systems to become more inclusive, responsive, and intentional in how the county delivers services and support for youth and young adults. Wendy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Political Science from Bethel University. She plans to use her education and professional experience to pursue a career that allows her to exercise her passions and values.
In her spare time, Wendy enjoys playing with her dogs, bonding with her family, going to the farmer’s market, and drinking iced coffee."
