Luis Argueta Jr

Communications and Public Affairs Director

In the past 17 years, Luis Argueta has distinguished himself through his impactful contributions across government, technology, and media. His journey, deeply rooted in his Salvadoran-American heritage, began with an early interest in video editing and photography. Influenced by his parents, who worked during the day and wedding photography by night, Luis' formative years laid a solid foundation for his diverse career path.

In his studies, Luis focused on Visual Communications, specializing in multimedia. His proficiency in transforming complex ideas into engaging narratives has made him adept at presenting data-driven stories to various audiences. His career has spanned government, media, and nonprofit sectors, where he has been instrumental in developing successful marketing and communication strategies that have significantly enhanced the reach and impact of the organizations he has been part of.

During his tenure at the Public Employees Retirement Association, Luis was pivotal in assessing and revamping the PERA education programs within the Stakeholder Communication team. His efforts not only made information more accessible to stakeholders but also innovated the delivery through webinars and videos.

At Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, Luis was integral to the marketing team. He managed marketing collateral across multiple platforms, including print, digital, and events. His skill in creating engaging marketing materials and his ability to leverage data insights into effective strategies boosted engagement and impact.

As a fluent Spanish speaker, Luis brings a rich multicultural perspective to his work. His solid communication skills and ability to resonate with diverse backgrounds make him a powerful advocate for Latinx communities in Minnesota.

Luis' passion for human rights advocacy and commitment to making a difference drive him in his role at the Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs. His expertise in strategic communications, policy engagement, and community outreach aligns with the Council's mission. Luis is enthusiastic about contributing to the Council's initiatives, working to amplify the voices and stories of Minnesota's diverse Latino communities.
