Alan Schulz Diaz

Policy Fellow
Originally from Colombia, Alan earned a full scholarship to finish his last two high school years in an international school in Canada. He then received another scholarship to study at Macalester College in Saint Paul, where he is currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in economics and sociology. During his years at Macalester, Alan has served in the Latin American student organization Adelante as the External Communications Officer and supported youth through his work in Skyline Tower Low Income Housing as a programming assistant, as well as a staff member in the German Twin Cities school. In January 2024, Alan worked on two projects in San Jose de Chiquito, a rural district in Turbaco, Colombia. The first project involved advocating for water access, and the second one consisted of collecting funds to rebuild the local cemetery. Now back again in Saint Paul, Alan is excited to use his research skills at the Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs this spring.
