Abigail Flores

Policy Fellow

Abigail Flores is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants from Quebrantadero, Morelos, Mexico. She was born in Elmhurst, Illinois but has called Minnesota her home for the past 16 years.  Abigail is committed to empowering the most vulnerable and strongly believes that together we can make the world a more peaceful, just and prosperous place. She joined MCLA in hopes of collaborating with her community and learning how to influence public policy.  She is currently completing her Master's degree in Peace, Conflict and Development at Universitat Jaume I in Spain.  She also holds Bachelor's degrees in K-12 Education and Spanish: World Language, Literature and Culture from St. Catherine University. She is also the Founder of Pasos de Paz, an association which promotes Peace Education through projects and workshops in K-12 schools. Abigail is committed to using technology to promote a culture of peace and currently serves as a volunteer intern on the Peace Journalism platform, TRANSCEND Media Services. In the future Abigail plans to continue gaining experience working with children post trauma and conflict and dreams of one day having her own non-profit organization.
