Rosa Pérez

Congressional District 2

Rosa Perez is a first-generation Mexican-American, originally from Texas. Her father immigrated from the beautiful state of Guanajuato, and her mother is from Texas. Rosa and her family moved to Minnesota to follow her maternal grandparents, who were migrant farmworkers in Owatonna. Rosa holds a bachelor's degree in Healthcare & Human Services and is set to complete her master’s in Education, specializing in English as a Second Language, from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Her motto is: “People can have passion, but it’s turning passion into action that makes a difference in this world.” Rosa’s commitment and perseverance for the Latinx community are evident in both her personal and professional life, as she has experienced and witnessed the harsh realities of unnecessary disparities and inequities faced by people of color.

With over 20 years of experience as a healthcare advocate and educational professional, Rosa has developed expertise in building relationships with culturally diverse communities locally and statewide. Above all, she has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to serving families in Minnesota. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, children, and extended family and friends.
