Amdahl, while Amdahl was a Hennepin County district court judge. Attorney with Briggs and Morgan, Minneapolis, 2007-2008; attorney with Rider Bennett, Minneapolis from 1977 to 2007. Chair of the Commission on Judicial Selection from 2003 to 2008. Appointed as Chief Justice June 2, 2008; resigned effective June 30, 2010 and returned to private practice.
