Graduate, faculty member, and faculty advisor, National Judicial College (Reno). Military Service: U.S. Air Force, European Theater, 1943-1945. Board Member, National Board of Trial Advocacy; Trustee, William Mitchell College of Law. Member, Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission, and American and Minnesota State Bar Associations. Fellow, International Academy of Trial Judges. Assistant Hennepin County Attorney, 1955-1961; Judge, Minneapolis Municipal Court (1961-1962), Fourth Judicial District (1962-1980). Appointed Associate Justice, July 1980, Chief Justice, December 1981. Tenure as Chief Justice was 12/19/1981 - 1/31/1989 or 7 years, 1 months, 11 days. Died August 24, 2010.
