Admitted to practice law Minnesota courts 1941, United States Supreme Court 1950. Military service: U.S. Air Force, World War II and Korean War. Representative Minnesota Legislature 1959-1963. Chairman, Minnesota Press Council. Elected Associate Justice of Supreme Court 1966, reelected subsequently. Died December 19, 1987.
