Edward Toussaint Jr.

Chief Judge

Born 1941; Chicago State University (B.A., 1964); DePaul University Law School (J.D., 1974); Chicago public school teacher (1964-1975). Claim counsel for American Family Insurance (1975-1981); Workers' Compensation Judge (1981-87); Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals Judge (1987-1992); district court judge (1992-1995); Adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law; Adjunct professor at University of St. Thomas school of Law; active in the Minnesota State Bar Association and has served on the Executive Committee since 1993; president of the council of Chief Judges (1998-99). Appointed March 13, 1995; elected 1996, 2002, 2008. Stepped down from the position as Chief Judge on Nov. 1, 2010. Retired on July 15, 2011. Appointed and assigned to serve statewide as Senior Judge from July 13, 2011, to June 30, 2013.
