Lived Experience Initiative

Why Lived Experience Matters in Child Welfare  QPI

  • Lived experience individuals often bring a deep understanding of cultural contexts and specific challenges faced by diverse communities.
  • Those who have navigated the child welfare system can become powerful advocates for positive change.
  • Having individuals who have successfully overcome challenges within the child welfare system can serve as positive role models for others going through similar experiences.

Partnership and collaboration with lived experience individuals can contribute to fairer and more equitable treatment of families and children.
