Minnesota Promise Virtual Sessions

MN Promise Virtual Session March 22nd: Native Fosters age 18-28!

Like our in-person sessions, the virtual MN Promise sessions are available for Minnesotans who experienced out-of-home placement within the child welfare system, whether they were reunified, in kinship care/guardian transfer, adopted, or aged out. mn promise logo

Our final session on March 22nd is available statewide for Native Fosters age 18-28, both those with ICWA eligible and non-ICWA cases--sign up here by March 18th!

  • The session is held over Zoom from 12:30-5 pm. Join by phone, tablet, or computer.
  • All sessions have a $ 125-time stipend, food gift card, and childcare stipend provided as needed. A care package will be sent to all participants as well!
  • Anyone with questions can reach out to Elena at elena@fosteradvocates.org or 612-256-4302.
  • Fosters who participate in MN Promise sessions will get early invites to future data feedback and advocacy events, and notice about future Foster Advocates leadership and support program opportunities!

What is MN Promise?

Foster Advocates has been traveling around the state talking with Fosters, to answer the question--what would it look like if Minnesota met its promise to Fosters? What if Fosters had all their rights fulfilled?

Minnesota Promise is an opportunity for Fosters to connect with peers and be a part of real systems change from the start to the finish line. Everyone who has been in the state’s child welfare system, whether reunified, adopted, or still in care, has expertise to add as we build a comprehensive vision for the future of Minnesota child welfare. This summer we’ll be publicly releasing our Minnesota Promise vision and report that gathers all the bold ideas for systems change shared by Fosters across the state--and then we'll get to work bringing those ideas into reality!
