Continuing Education

During a calendar year, a gambling manager is required to complete at least one continuing education class conducted by the Board.

  • Continuing education classes are conducted online and at locations throughout the state.
  • For traditional classes, check for specific dates and times listed below.  Length of classes may vary.  No prior registration is necessary to attend.
  • Both online courses and traditional classes are free and open to the public.

If you are planning to attend a class in person and need special accommodations due to a disability, please call 651-539-1922 two weeks in advance.

Online Continuing Education Courses

The online continuing education course, Lawful Purpose Expenditures, is now available.  All gambling fund expenditures qualify as allowable expense (the cost of running your lawful gambling operation) or a lawful purpose (charitable contributions, program expenditures, gambling taxes, and regulatory and licensing fees). This course includes detailed information on lawful purpose expenditures and how to report them on the monthly LG100C, Lawful Purpose Expenditures, form.

If you are a licensed gambling manager, completion of this course satisfies your continuing education requirement for this calendar year.  At the beginning of each month, confirmation notices are emailed to all gambling managers receiving online continuing education credit during the previous month.

A PDF version of the course is also available for printing as a go-to guide.

To take an online course, select your course and then:

  • Enter your email address.  Be sure your email address is correct! If you are a currently licensed gambling manager, the email address will be used to send you a confirmation that you’ve received continuing education credit for taking the online course.  (Non-gambling managers can skip the email step.)
  • Once you’ve entered your email address, you’ll be asked to enter your name and a password.  Be sure to remember your password as you’ll use it to access this and future courses.
