Every two years, the EMSRB issues a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the operation of EMS systems in each of Minnesota's eight geographic EMS regions. The general purposes of the grant program include: promoting the systematic and cost-effective delivery of emergency medical care throughout the state; identifying and addressing common local, regional and state EMS system needs; providing public education and promoting the exchange of information about emergency medical care; establishing and maintaining training standards to ensure consistent quality of EMS throughout the state. The regional programs were designated as grantee's by action of the EMSRB.
