Project Summary
The Red Rock Solar Project is proposed to be located on 483 acres of privately owned land in Cottonwood County, Minnesota, and will generate up to 60 megawatts (MWs) of energy. The Red Rock Solar Project is being proposed with the Big Bend Wind Project as a hybrid energy generation facility, which will generate a total of up to 314 MWs. Big Bend Wind, LLC, is pursing a site permit for the Big Bend Wind Project, and additional details can be found under Docket #WS-19-619. The energy generated at the Red Rock Solar Project will be transmitted to the electrical grid via the 18 mile long, 161 kilovolt (kV) high voltage transmission line (HVTL) being constructed and operated to serve the Big Bend Wind Project.
