DOC Recruitment Intern
Location: Department of Corrections Central Office, 1450 Energy Park Dr, Suite 200, St Paul
Description: Assist in creating marketing materials to support an aggressive, world class recruitment program. Maintain documentation to measure recruitment effectiveness. Represent the agency at potential job fairs and network and build relationships with college resources and student organizations to increase the diversity and talent of our applicant pools. Assist in creating tools to improve recruiting efficiencies and serve as liaisons for ensuring facilities have the recruiting materials and support they need.
Supervision: The intern will be supervised by the Office of Diversity.
Skills and Specifications:
The individual must be self-motivated
The individual must have good communication and interpersonal skills
The individual must have strong writing and editing skills
The individual must be willing to learn new skills and tackle difficult projects
Requirements: The intern must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a program that offers course credit for internships. Applicants should have an interest in business administration, and/or human resources management. The applicant should be enrolled as either a junior or senior and have the following qualifications: Strong oral and written communication skills sufficient to accurately and effectively deliver information over the phone, in-person and via e-mail; Strong customer service skills sufficient to meet the needs of customers in various locations; The ability to work independently and effectively prioritize a workload; Microsoft Office Suite proficient. DOC Interns must successfully pass a criminal background check and agree follow department policies and procedures.
Length of Internship: Negotiable and Flexible. 12 weeks/24 hours per week desired
