Some Minneapolis postal services relocated

6/22/2020 4:15:58 PM

Two Minneapolis post offices were burned in the riots following George Floyd’s death, which will affect some of the people with whom DHS communicates via U.S. mail. For example, individuals with P.O. boxes at those locations may not know where their pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer cards – which can be used to purchase food – will be sent. For those who use U.S. mail to communicate about DHS services, here is what you need to know.

  • Minnehaha customers (ZIP code 55406) will now be served at the Minneapolis Main Post Office, 100 S. First Street, 55401, 612-349-4943.
  • Lake Street customers (ZIP codes 55408 and 55409) will now be served at Loring Station, 18 N. 12th Street, Minneapolis, 55403, 612-333-6213.
