Since 1866, the St. Peter campus has been providing mental health services to Minnesotans in need. Founded as the St. Peter State Hospital, the campus has served Minnesotans with mental and substance abuse issues, cognitive impairment, and those who require treatment in a secure setting. In 1957, the campus served more than 3,000 patients. Today, approximately 400 patients are served through the various programs. More information about the history of the campus and programs can be found at the St. Peter State Hospital website, or by visiting the museum.
