Certified child care centers

The Department of Human Services is responsible for certifying and monitoring license-exempt child care centers that participate in the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). An overview of the process is in Certification of License-Exempt Child Care Centers: A guidance document for implementation (PDF). This page also has information about the process and certification requirements.

Certification process news and updates

The department is building an online platform for center operators to complete the certification process. When completed, the department will send unique links to each center operator. The link will be used to verify information and provide documentation of compliance to be granted certification. For previous communications on this topic, please visit our archive page.

Centers are  encouraged to prepare for the certification process by compiling these six documents:

Health and safety requirements

Staffing requirements

Training requirements

Forms and other documents
