Child Care Systems Transformation

The Minnesota Department of Human Services has begun a child care systems transformation initiative to improve and integrate the information technology systems used for the licensing, certification, and Child Care Assistance Program registration of child care providers in Minnesota.

Through this initiative, a new system will be implemented for child care licensing and Child Care Assistance Program registration at both the state and county level to eliminate current paper-based processes and create a more efficient and user-friendly experience.

Who will use the new system?

The new system will be used by:

  • Applicants for family child care, licensed child care centers, and certified child care centers
  • Licensed child care centers, certified child care centers, and family child care providers
  • All child care providers who participate in the Child Care Assistance Program, including legally non-licensed providers

What features will the new system have?
