DHS is seeking proposals from qualified responders to coordinate the State and American Indian Workforce Development Initiative

DHS is seeking proposals from qualified responders to partner with the State and Tribal Nations to create an American Indian Workforce Development Initiative (AIWDI or Initiative).

DHS, through its Economic Assistance and Employment Supports Division, is seeking Proposals from qualified Responders to partner with the State and Tribal Nations to create an American Indian Workforce Development Initiative (AIWDI or Initiative). The purpose of this Initiative is to combine federal and state funding to support economic development through collective impact. We will do this by connecting culturally relevant certificate programs for entry level positions in identified career pathways with culturally appropriate wrap around services within Tribal communities.

The purpose of the Initiative is to combine federal and state funding to create culturally relevant certificate programs and paid work experience in entry level positions in identified career pathways within Tribal communities. The goal is increased employment for participants within the Tribal Nations into entry-level positions that provide a career ladder for further opportunities.

The term of any resulting contract is anticipated to be for twelve months: October 1, 2019 until September 30, 2020. A potential renewal for a total of four additional years will be based on an evaluation of this initiative and funding priorities beyond this approximately one year period.
