Commissioner Lourey releases statement on Minnesota Health Care Spending report

2/28/2019 4:27:38 PM

A report released by the Minnesota Department of Health highlighted reforms in Minnesota’s state health care programs that slowed overall health care spending growth in 2016. Below is a statement from Minnesota Human Services Commissioner Tony Lourey on the findings:

“This report underlines the value of our ongoing efforts to manage costs while improving quality and access to state health care programs. We continue to focus on better oversight of managed care and buying better health by prioritizing outcomes for Minnesotans. With Assistant Commissioner and Medicaid Director Marie Zimmerman’s strong track record of leadership on these issues, we aim to sustain Minnesota’s gains in Medicaid coverage while making smarter health care investments.”
