Reciprocity: A number of other states have Partnership programs or are in the process of developing them. Reciprocity means that a person who has purchased a Partnership policy in one state can receive asset protection when applying for Medical Assistance (Medicaid) for Long-Term Care in another Partnership state. There are federal standards for reciprocity among all states participating in the Partnership program. These standards require all states developing Partnership programs after 1993 to accept reciprocal agreements with other states, unless the state notifies the federal government to the contrary. See the map of the states with reciprocity for more information.
