Temporary changes to background studies due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Resuming emergency background studies
The Department of Human Service recognizes that the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases poses significant staffing challenges for numerous providers across Minnesota. As a result, DHS is returning to emergency COVID background studies as of 6:30 a.m. Thurs., Nov. 19. Instructions with the steps and information entities need to submit an emergency background study are available on NETStudy 2.0.
Background study public fingerprint site closures: Some public sites for fingerprinting required for background study applications have temporarily closed in response to COVID-19. For the most up-to-date information about which public fingerprint sites are open visit Gemalto Thales. Public fingerprinting site information is updated daily by the Department of Human Services contracted vendor, Thales (formerly Gemalto Cogent).
