DHS-operated special needs dental clinics close
DHS-operated special needs dental clinics in Brainerd, Fergus Falls, Cambridge, Faribault and Willmar are closed until further notice to avoid spreading the COVID-19 virus. The move follows a recommendation from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry that clinics postpone all non-emergency and elective dental care to protect patients, dental care providers and the community. Required in-person classroom training and nonmandatory training sessions cancelled
The Minnesota Department of Human Services canceled required in-person classroom training sessions for county and tribal workers for the next two weeks, through the end of March. The department also canceled nonmandatory training sessions until May 1, 2020. Department staff will be notifying workers who have enrolled in training in the next few days. The department is working on efforts to suspend training rules. Read more
Visiting DHS Direct Care and Treatment Facilities
We are taking steps to protect against the spread of COVID-19 because the health and well-being of the people we serve and our staff is at the center of our work. It is important to take precautions that the Centers for Disease Control and Minnesota Department of Health is recommending, specifically “Social Distancing” or minimizing contact. Therefore, as of March 13, DHS has suspended visiting and outings for people in our facilities. Read more.
