What is your connection with SSB?

Volunteer reader for Twin Ports Newspaper of the Air at Lighthouse Center for Vision Loss, Duluth, Minnesota.

Hometown?

Born & raised in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Been living in Duluth since 2003.

What do you do for fun outside of work?

I enjoy photography, being a sports spectator, and staying up on current events, mostly by reading.

Favorite travel destination(s)?

My traveling is limited to family gatherings in Connecticut, Wisconsin, or when on business. I’ve lived in several parts of the U.S.

Who or what inspires you?

Seeing the "light bulb" turn on when one of my students gets a concept.

A personal accomplishment that makes you proud?

Finishing my Ph.D. in social pharmacy and being able to enjoy an over 30-year career as a professor.

What was the first job you ever had?

Working in my father’s pharmacy as a young teen.

Any interesting jobs you’ve had throughout your career?

I enjoy my side jobs, which I hope will have a more prominent role when I retire in a few years. Those side jobs are photographer, voice actor, public address announcer, and "Santa Paul."

Something about you that most people don’t know?

I do public address announcing for a local college and semi-pro soccer team.

Any other fun fact about you?

I’ve lived in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, South, and Mountain West. Also, I’ve been reading, off and on, for services in different parts of the country, mostly newspaper reading, since the late 1970s.
