Administrative and Communications Specialist
As the Administrative and Communications Specialist, Maya provides administrative, communications, processing, and technical support to the Commission.
Maya graduated from Grinnell College with a BA in English and French. At college, she worked extensively on disability-related issues through her work at Grinnell’s Disability Resources office and served on committees to represent and advocate for students with disabilities. She also brings experience in communications and administrative support from her internships with a community health nonprofit, Wellshare International, and a disability rights nonprofit, the Alliance for Citizen Directed Supports.
Maya has volunteered on the Minnesota’s Disability Law Center’s “Into Adulthood” project and served as a Deafblind mentor for the Midwest Deafblind conference.
