2018 Proposed Health Insurance Rates
Insurers’ proposed 2018 rates for Minnesota’s individual and small group health insurance plans are publicly available on July 31, 2017, as required by Minnesota law. These rates are preliminary and are subject to rate review by the Commerce Department. Final, approved 2018 rates with more detailed plan information, including provider networks, will be publicly available no later than October 2, 2017.
Proposed rates for individual market health plans apply only to coverage that Minnesotans purchase for themselves. (Most Minnesotans receive coverage from employer-based insurance or public programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and MinnesotaCare.)
Proposed rates for small group market health plans apply to coverage purchased by employers that have 2-50 employees.
Details on proposed rates by plan, age, tobacco use and geographic rating area are available through Minnesota’s SERFF Filing Access. See instructions below (Search for Filings).
Beginning August 1, 2017, these proposed rates (as well as proposed and historical rate increases across the nation), are available on the federal HealthCare.gov website.
