Why complete the Census?
Each year, Minnesota communities receive 15 billion dollars from the federal government on the basis of the Census count. This comes out to approximately $2,800 per Minnesotan per year, or nearly $28,000 per Minnesotan per decade. These funds are directed to programs like federal direct student loans, the Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP), low-income home energy assistance, medical assistance program (Medicaid), highway planning and construction, and more. An accurate count of ALL Minnesotans ensures these areas are well-funded for the decade to come.
