FAQs - Initial Licensure Process
INITIAL LICENSURE APPLICATION PROCESS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION:
How soon after providing my application to the Board office will I get my license number?
- The Board of Dentistry staff cannot answer this question. The volumes of applications we receive in the Board office varies day to day, as well as the number of applications staff are able to process on a daily basis. However, be assured that this function is a high priority for our Board. The applications received go through a two person review and if found to be complete, are placed in a queue to be processed in the order they were received in.
What happens if my application is not filled out correctly or missing something?
- The Board staff will receive your application and have it go through a 2 person review. We look to ensure all materials are acceptable and all requirements are complete. If there is anything missing or not acceptable, we will mail the application back to you.
Is there anything I can do to help expedite the process?
- Yes, because applications are received every day and staff processes in the order they were received, it would be prudent to get your application to the office as soon as possible. This might mean considering handing it in person, or overnighting the materials.
