All applicants for licensure must submit to a federal and state criminal background check (CBC). Once your application fees have been processed, you will receive the CBC packet in your email. The packet contains both instructions for completing your CBC and three consent forms. Since the CBC process may add up to four weeks to the licensure process, we strongly recommend initiating the CBC as soon as possible. The CBC Program, which manages all of the criminal background checks for our applicants, will inform us once the criminal background check study is complete. Add firstname.lastname@example.org
to your contacts to ensure that you receive any correspondences that the CBC Program might send you regarding your criminal background check.
UPDATE: We recognize finding fingerprinting locations during the COVID-19 healthcare crisis has been a challenge. The Minnesota Health Related Licensing Boards (HLBs) have worked with Governor Walz’s office to find a solution that will facilitate licensing of healthcare professionals throughout the crisis.
On March 27, 2020, Governor Walz signed Emergency Executive Order 20-23 which temporarily defers the fingerprinting requirement for our applicants. If your CBC is completed without the use of your fingerprints, you will be required to submit your fingerprints and complete a CBC based on your fingerprints at a later date.
