Tammi Dahlman was appointed to the Board in 2020. As a social worker for the past 40 years in long-term care facilities, Tammi brings expertise in the understanding of older adults’ experiences, including their emotional needs, adjustments to living in new environments and end-of-life planning. Tammi’s fervor for work and research on aging is fueled by being an advocate for senior rights, specifically by being a liaison between nursing home staff, families of residents and residents themselves. Her goal is to ensure that each older Minnesotan’s voice is heard and their needs are met. Currently, Tammi serves on the Wright County Human Services Advisory Board, the Wright County Mental and Vulnerable Adult Task Force and the Minnesota Council on Aging. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors for the Allina Buffalo Hospital. She is a current member of the Minnesota Nursing Home Social Worker Association. Outside the world of aging, Tammi actively participates as a mentor in her local and state 4-H programs, chairs the Dassel-Cokato Public Schools Curriculum Advisory Committee and serves on her local church council.
