Find Your CE Carryover for 2024-2026 Renewals

Self-Print License Card Option Available Through Online Renewal Services

If you have a  current license or certificate, you can print your own license/certificate card through Online Renewal Services.

Go to Online Renewal Services, then (Important!) select the "License/Certificate Card" tab (see image), and log in from that tab.

If a card is available, you will see a "print" option. Note that if you have only recently renewed or become licensed, the card may not be available (or may not show your new expiration date) for 3-5 business days.

If you are dual licensed, you can get both of your cards.

When you select "print", a PDF is generated. Where the file saves or how it displays will depend upon the browser you use and your personal browser settings.

Lines on the 8 1/2 x 11 printout indicate where to cut to create the traditional oversized and wallet-sized cards.

Beware Companies Purporting to Offer "Minnesota Board-Approved" Continuing Education

Please be aware that the Board does not preapprove ANY continuing education vendors NOR ANY continuing education courses or PDH offerings.

In chosing continuing education, make your selections based upon the expertise of the presenter, the presenter's or vendor's ability to provide the documentation you would need if you were audited by the Board, and whether the content furthers your development as a licensed professional.

In other words, select continuing education based upon your assessment of its ability to meet the requirements in Minnesota Statutes, section 326.107.

Rules Changes Effective December 4

Several changes regarding Minnesota Rules, Chapter 1800, were adopted by the Board and became effective today, December 4, 2023. In addition to minor housekeeping items and "plain language" fixes, the adopted rules:

  • clarify the education evaluation process for foreign degrees;
  • allow direct registration for the Fundamentals of Soil Science exam;
  • modify the education and experience requirements for landscape architects to provide more paths to licensure;
  • update and clarify the general description of information required for applications to the Board;
  • clarify the certification statements to which applicants must agree when applying for licensure/certification or renewing or reinstating a license/certificate;
  • clarify the validity of applications and application expiration; and update definitions.

For the authoritative version of Minnesota Rules, Chapter 1800, see the Reviser's website. Note: There may be a slight delay before the Revisor posts the revised rules. The Board has prepared an overview of those changes most likely to be of interest to applicants, in-training candidates, CID certificate-holders, and licensees.

ASBOG Launches New FG Prep Course

ASBOG (Association of State Boards of Geology) has launched a preparation course for the Fundamentals of Geology (FG) examination. A video explaining the course is available.

The full course will cover all eight content domains—which are based on the 2023 Task Analysis Survey—on the ASBOG exam. Two additional "bundles" focus on the "core" and "applied" content domains, with the "General Geology and Geological Investigations" domain being common to each.

Full details on the course are available on the ASBOG website.

Landscape Architecture Recognized as STEM Profession

In July, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security designated landscape architecture as a STEM degree program. The designation recognizes Landscape Architecture's use of research, innovation, and development of new technologies using natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics and the high degree of science, technology, engineering and mathematics coursework required in landscape architecture collegiate programs.

This designation will serve to improve understanding of how the profession impacts the health, safety and welfare of the public.
