Examples of support caregivers may receive are: * Caregiver education and training * A monthly stipend (payment) * Travel, lodging and financial assistance when traveling with the Veteran to receive care * Access to health care benefits through the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA), if you don't already qualify for care or services under another health care plan * Mental health services and counseling * Up to 30 days per year of respite care

Veterans Administration (VA) offers two broad categories of Pension benefit programs: * Veterans Pension: Tax-free monetary benefit payable to low-income wartime Veterans. * Survivors' Pension: Tax-free monetary benefit payable to a low-income, un-remarried surviving spouse and/or unmarried child(ren) of a deceased Veteran with wartime service. Veterans and survivors who are eligible for pension benefits and are housebound or require the aid and attendance of another person may be eligible to receive additional monetary amounts.

The Salvation Army - St. Cloud has warm beds available for up to seven veterans. The program promotes sustained wellness and helps veterans find permanent housing. While enrolled, veterans work with a Salvation Army case worker to determine goals. Goals may include: * Recovery from addiction * Securing employment * Pursuing further education * Participating in volunteerism * Receiving ongoing outpatient care at the local Veteran Affairs Medical Center * Reintegrating into society While in the program, veterans must meet with their assigned case worker and follow the designated Salvation Army guidelines.

Blind or visually impaired support services offer direct support to people who are blind, deaf-blind or with low vision. Programs may teach Independent Living Skills (ILS) to people with a visual impairment.
