Conducts administrative fair hearings for appeals arising out of the broad array of programs administered by the Department of Human Services (DHS) These include: * Cash and food benefit programs * Health care programs * Social services programs * Residential programs * And others Human services judges conduct hearings involving: * Allegations of program fraud * Maltreatment determinations made by DHS or local county agencies * Individuals who were disqualified from working in DHS-licensed facilities * Eligibility appeals for the MNsure insurance exchange * Child and vulnerable adult maltreatment * Disqualification hearings for the Minnesota departments of Health and Education

The Ombudsperson Office works with people who are enrolled in a managed health care plan for their Medical Assistance (MA) or MinnesotaCare benefits. The ombudsperson can: * Help you navigate and understand your health care coverage * Help you communicate and work with your health plan * Help you identify your options * Help you understand your rights * Help you with access, service and billing questions * Provide education on navigating the health care system * Inform members about the process for filing a grievance, health plan appeal and state appeal
