Animal shelters offer protection and care for unwanted pets or stray animals. Animal adoption services are also available. MORE INFORMATION Offers the following programs: * Educational: Classroom presentations, videos, tours and printed material for all ages * Foster: Places sick, injured or very young animals in homes until ready for adoption * Spay/neuter certificates (financial assistance): Provided to members of the general public with financial need * Emergency medical assistance program: Available to pet owners in financial need with pets that have emergency medical expenses (considered on a case-by-case basis) * Barn cat program: To find homes for cats that enjoy the outdoors
